Guanyin (Kuan Yin) is the Chinese name for Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva (An enlightened one) . However, folk traditions in China and other East Asian countries have added many distinctive characteristics and legends. Avalokiteśvara was originally depicted as a male bodhisattva, and therefore wears chest-revealing clothing and may even sport a moustache. Although this bare-chested and moustached depiction still exists in the Far East, Guanyin is more often depicted as a woman in modern times. Additionally, some people believe that Guanyin is androgynous. In this Feng Shui decor bonded stone statue, SHE is holding a vessel with the "waters of commpassion" This beautiful, affordable piece can bring compassion and understanding to any home, garden or office. This makes a wonderful and thoughtful gift for anyone, on any day. In red and gold tones, this Standing Guanyin Feng Shui Statue is truly beautiful.

Guanyin (Kuan Yin, or Quan Yin) is the bodhisattva (an 'enlightened' one) associated with compassion as venerated by East Asian Buddhists, usually as a female. The name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin which means "Observing the Sounds (or Cries) of the World".
